Organization

The organization currently consists of the following members of the Board of Directors. It is intended that there will be from 1-3 additional members.

Emmie Lou Tucker- President and Founder-- Emmie Lou is a former high school teacher of English and Social Studies, as well as being retired from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service where she was a Software Test Manager for many years. She and her husband, W. Ronald Tucker, have served as an unofficial home for rescued dogs for over thirty years. In that time they have rescued over fifty dogs, sometimes having as many as twenty-one in residence. There are currently twelve, including two rescues resulting from Hurricane Ivan. The death of Kodiak, a six year old Newfoundland mix from SARDS just five weeks after diagnosis served as the catalyst for this association. Kody was a registered Delta Society Pet Partner (therapy dog) and also a READ dog.

W. Ronald Tucker- Vice-President-- Ron has been self employed for over forty-five years, mainly in the finance and construction fields His civic activities are numerous. He served in many position including President several times for various Optimist Clubs in North Tampa, Fl., Pensacola, Fl. and Milton, Fl. He was also a Director for the Ninety and Nine Boys Ranch of Cantonment Fl. He served as President of the Senior Advisory Board of the Santa Rosa Medical Center. He was a member of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Board (Jacksonville District) in 1976. He shares the rescue obligations with Emmie Lou.

Dr. Nora Wilcox- Secretary-Treasurer is a Naval Flight Surgeon at NAS, Pensacola, Fl. She is a member of the Land of Pure Gold Foundation, a Golden Retriever site and she and Molly work as READ and therapy partners.

Paul Miller, DVM is a staff member of the Surgical Sciences Department of the University of Wisconsin Veterinary School. He is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.

Ian Herring, DVM is an assistant professor in the Ophthalmalogy Department of the Veterinary School, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at Virginia Tech. He is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
